Welcome to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. You’re standing where ferry passengers and market shoppers meet the bayfront, at the start of this waterfront loop. This preview introduces the style of the full tour: local context, a clear walking cue, and a story you can take in at your own pace.
Walk cue: Walk out the front of the building, the Market Street side, cross The Embarcadero at the signal and head inland, west, toward the Financial District. You’re aiming for Montgomery Street between Clay and Washington; the pyramid on the skyline is your guide. Take your time and stay aware of traffic and current street conditions.
